Ride Metro
The U Street station is on the Metro green line, 10 miles from each end of the green line.
All Metro rail lines cross the green line which stops at U Street.
- From Metro's orange, yellow, or blue line, transfer to the green line at L'Enfant Plaza,
and go north towards Greenbelt, but get off after 5 stops, 8 minutes, at U Street.
- From the Metro red line, transfer to the green line at the first of either green line station, and ride to U Street.
Parking in Metro station lots is free on weekends. All stations at the end of Metro lines have parking, including five stations at each end of the green line. The 10-mile Metro ride from the Green line's either end (both near the Capital Beltway I-95) costs $2.35 on weekends.
- From Baltimore, drive I-95 south. At the Capital Beltway, go east (left fork), and then take the first exit, Greenbelt Metro station. Park, and take the train (the only one there, the green line towards DC). Go seven stops, 20 minutes, to U Street.
- From the Capital Beltway's southeast section, take right exit 7B for Branch Ave, MD-5 North. Take first right (east) turn onto Auth Road. At the circle are entrances to the Branch Ave Metro station. Park, and take the train (the only one there, the Metro green line towards DC). Go 13 stops, 31 minutes, to U Street.
